Salad Dressings

Delicious Fresh Salad Dressing Recipes

Summer is just around the corner and you’re eating salad for the health benefits but are most-likely adding a store-bought salad dressing for extra flavour.

The problem is, most bottled store-bought salad dressings are often filled with sugar, additives, preservatives, and trans fats.

The great news is that salad dressings don’t have to be tricky to be delicious! Here are five of my favourite dressings that you can whip up in less than 5 minutes.

Middle Eastern Buttermilk Sauce

100ml Buttermilk

100g Greek Yoghurt

1tbsp olive oil

1 small garlic grated

1 tsp Za’atar

Pinch of salt

Whisk together the ingredients and taste for seasoning. Delicious on a salad of roasted aubergines with lemon thyme.

Pomegranate Vinaigrette

1 shallot finely chopped

½ tsp Dijon mustard

2 tsp pomegranate molasses

3 tbsp olive oil

Pinch of salt and pepper

Place the shallot, mustard and pomegranate molasses in a bowl. Add some salt and

pepper and whisk vigorously as you slowly pour in the olive oil. Beautiful on a salad

packed with rocket, ripe figs and creamy goat’s curd.

Coconut Lime Dressing

1 clove garlic grated

1 small knob grated ginger

1 lime juice and rind

100ml coconut milk

Combine all the ingredients and season to taste.

Turmeric and Ginger Dressing

4tbsp olive oil

1tsp fresh grated turmeric

1tsp fresh grated ginger

Juice of 1 lemon

1tsp honey

Pinch of salt and pepper

Whisk to combine.

Sesame Lime Dressing

1 lime zest and juice

1 tbsp finely grated ginger

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp mirin

1 tbsp sesame oil

3 tbsp tamari

Add all ingredients to a jar and shake.
